The Cryo Laboratory looks like a place where someone studied something. Rows of test cells line the walls behind cracked transparent panels, linked by cryogenic storage lines and sample lifts.
# Environment
The cells are empty, or appear to be. Several contain restraints sized for something larger than a person. Cryogenic lines leak in plumes that freeze the carrier’s guides. Readings from the storage tanks show contents held at temperatures close to absolute zero, but no camera has seen what they hold.
One cell, on floor 7-4, contains a workbench. On the bench is a phase coupler housing of human manufacture, partly disassembled. Its serial number belongs to the L-1 prototype from the 2214 return test. L-1 is sealed in Asterion’s laboratories.
# Machines
Heavy units dominate: Tanks in pairs, supported by Crawlers and a few Runners.
# Guardian
Glacier is a cryogenic containment engine wrapped in ice and layered armour, and it hits harder than any guardian above it.
# Pilot notes
Cryo rounds do little to a machine built for the cold; armour-piercing calibrations and the cannon do much more.
