Marek can trigger three short carrier routines. Each runs on its own control loop and needs time to reset before it can be used again. They are the closest thing the C-9 has to tricks.
| Routine | Effect | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Guard | Routes power to the protective field | Before a guardian’s heavy strike |
| Overdrive | Raises the weapon cycling rate | To burst down a support unit or a dense wave |
| Brake | Emits a decoy pulse that slows nearby pursuers | When Runners reach the lift |
The routines were written by Ilyan Venn as part of the emergency control sequence he taught Marek, a sequence never added to the official manual. Yara Demir updated them two days before the blackout.
# Repair kit
The field repair kit is a pack of sealant foam, conductive mesh and pressure staples. It closes hull breaches. It cannot restore shield charge or make ammunition. The C-9 carries enough to seal the hull partway after every cleared floor. Larger repairs come from caches.
# Canisters and cells
Shield cells store a limited phase charge. A replacement energy canister feeds the reactor buffer, where the power planner allocates output to the first turret, shield, additional mounts and drone bay. See Shields.
