Weapons and ammunition

Basic turret, machine gun, cannon and laser: the four weapon families of the C-9, and why only one of them never runs out.

The C-9’s weapons began as rock-cutting tools for clearing the guide channel. The Directorate added real weapons only after probes came back scarred. Every weapon sits on a universal hardpoint and needs 3 units of reactor power to fire.

Basic bolt turret

A repairable kinetic tool with an inexhaustible supply of low-power bolts. It is the carrier’s last-resort weapon, kept on every configuration at Yara Demir’s insistence. It never runs out of ammunition, but it still needs power.

# Machine gun

Machine gun
Machine gun

A high-rate kinetic weapon with a large magazine. It is the best answer to Runners and exposed support units, and the least efficient against heavy armour.

# Cannon

Cannon
Cannon

A slow, heavy shell designed to punch through armour. Each shot uses a costly round. Pilots save cannons for Tanks and guardians.

# Laser

Laser
Laser

A focused energy pulse with very fast travel time. The weapon draws ammunition from sealed capacitors; its beam is not free power from the reactor. Its speed makes it the weapon of choice in the Void Passage.

# Ammunition

Machine guns, cannons and lasers use type-specific ammunition shared by every mount of that type. An empty special weapon stops firing until it is resupplied or swapped out in the garage. Buying a weapon includes starter ammunition but does not install it.

# Manual and automatic fire

In automatic mode, each mount picks its own targets. In manual mode, Marek aims directly and the mounts fire straight along his reticle. Manual fire is precise but pauses the drone link.

Weapon calibrations adjust impact force, cycle rate, shell speed, armour penetration, cryogenic slowing or chain discharge. They are field calibrations, not magical changes to matter. See Field calibrations.
